Yoga Nidra & Sound: Cultivating rest: Full Super moon in Libra

After a full super moon a couple of days ago, we are still receiving it's vibrations. The season just shifted from the depths of the winter to the promise of spring. We can take this last day of the work week to cultivate rest, to get quiet and open up our bodies and awareness to any information we are open to receive. A chance to practice gratitude for this culmination of light and find peace within stillness. I will guide through a little movement before resting in a restorative yoga pose during a yoga nidra experience, opening up our bodies to receive the vibrations from sonic idiophones provided by Alex Beckmann.

Wellness workshops for Latinx immigrants part II

I’m happy to be a part of these wellness workshops in collaboration with artist Guadalupe Maravilla. These workshops and performances are specifically for Latinx immigrants living in New York. The wellness workshops address the lack of mental health resources available for immigrants impacted by the traumas of migration.

My role in these workshops is as a facilitator for a cacao ceremony and yoga introduction series.

New Moon Cacao & Sound

New Moon Cacao & Sound

The moon is dark and brand new. It's an optimal time for expansion, connection to your intuitive self and intention setting using cacao and sound as the mediums.

Cacao is known for its gentle heart opening qualities and playful nature. By connecting to ancient traditions and to the natural world, we can can honor those who came before us. A cacao ceremony is another means of personal connection, a tool to ground and meditate.

After cacao and a short breath work practice, immerse yourself in the sonic landscape of gongs, singing bowls and other overtone emitting instruments. Through mindful listening and positive intention, we allow sound to guide us into deeply relaxing, healing, and meditative states of consciousness.

Wear comfortable clothing. Limited capacity, please RSVP to holler@otbirds.com to confirm your spot and your cacao.

Enter at 72 Wooster Street
